These apples are great for eating, but also for compote, jam, marmalade, strudel, cakes, brandy, liqueur, vinegar … In fact, Croatian villages are full of abandoned but organic orchards, where every year tons of unharvested healthy fruit perish, mostly apples, pears, and plums.
